ROCB A/P Promotes the AEO Program During the WCO/UNODC CCP Customs Business Workshop in Port Klang, Malaysia

The ROCB A/P once again contributed to the successful opening of the WCO/UNODC Container Control Program (CCP) Customs-Business Workshop. This time the workshop was held in Port Klang, Malaysia on 11 February 2015, by the UNODC Bangkok Office with the sponsorship of the United States and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
It was the ROCB A/P’s third contribution to CCP Customs-Business Workshopin South East Asia region. This National Workshop was organized by the UNODC on the occasion of the national Container Control Program (CCP) implementation in Malaysia for the purpose of promoting the AEO program. The AEO program has been considered as a tool which can realize the supply chain security and trade facilitation simultaneously.
The Workshop was attended by some 40 participants representing importers and exporters, Customs brokers, Freight forwarders and Port Operator based in Port Klang, Malaysia.
Mr. Seung Kyoo Lee, Program Manager for East, Central and West Asia made a presentation on the WCO SAFE Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade – Pillar 2 (Customs –Business). His presentation was focusing on the practical ways to secure supply chain logistics through the Authorized Economic Operator(AEO) programme. He also emphasized the ROCB A/P’s activities for the promotion of the AEO program in Asia Pacific Region such as the Regional Workshop for the WCO Regional Workshop on the SAFE Framework of Standards (SAFE) and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) which was held in New Delhi India from 5-9 January 2015.
