The WCO, in cooperation with the ROCB A/P and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), organized the WCO Sub-Regional Workshop on Customs Valuation from 8 to 11 September 2015 in Tehran, Iran, under the sponsorship of the CCF/Japan. Mr. Takayuki Miyoshi and Ms. Pariyabhat Ariyapongkoson joined the WCO Secretariat resource person and facilitated the Workshop. 9 participants from Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan including 11 observers from the host country, Iran, attended the Workshop.
The objectives of this Workshop were to; (i) develop and deepen the participants’ knowledge on Customs valuation and its effective control, and (ii) enhance their training skills and potential for being a national trainer on the Customs valuation.
WCO and ROCB experts delivered lectures on the WTO Valuation Agreement, various measures for valuation control including Post Clearance Audit and trainers’ skills and methodology. During the Workshop, discussions about national valuation challenges also took place between the participants and experts.
