The WCO, in cooperation with the ROCB A/P and Japan Customs, organized the WCO A/P Regional Workshop on Risk Assessment and Selectivity with Advance Cargo Information on 20-23 June 2016 at the Regional Training Center in Japan (Japan Customs Training Institute) in Kashiwa, Japan. A total of 29 delegates from 25 WCO Member administrations in the A/P region and 5 resource persons, including WCO Secretariat official, a WCO accredited Customs expert from Australia, and a pre-accredited Customs expert from Mongolian Customs, participated in this important regional capacity building program. Ms. Pariyabhat ARIYAPONGKOSON and Ms. Jate-arpa BENJAPHONG, Program Coordinators of the ROCB A/P, participated in this Workshop as facilitators.
The participants deepened their knowledge about risk management with the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) in this 4-day Workshop, including the benefits of assuring supply chain security while expediting the movement of goods at the same time. Participants had active and positive participation in the sessions, exercises and group work. Participants also benefited from a site visit at the FedEx clearance facility in Tokyo.
Participants recognized the value of this Regional Workshop and reaffirmed their continued commitment in better utilization of the ACI, including the so-called “7+1 information”, at national and regional levels through close contact and experience sharing among them. The WCO and ROCB A/P remain committed to providing various opportunities and platforms to this end.
