ROCB A/P contribution to the IFCBA Global Conference in Korea
14 – 16 May 2014, Seoul, Korea
In response to the request from the WCO Headquarters, Mr. Yoshihiro Kosaka, Head of the ROCB A/P, participated in the International Federation of Customs Brokers Association (IFCBA) global conference that was held in Seoul, Korea on 14-16 May 2014. Around 300 participants attended the conference.
Mr. Kosaka delivered an opening speech on behalf of the Secretary General of the WCO. He congratulated the IFCBA on their 25th anniversary and outlined the importance of business partnership in the modern customs environment. He also highlighted the role of customs brokers in the implementation of WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation.
During the conference, Mr. Kosaka was invited to outline the customs capacity building in the Asia Pacific region. A number of important points were covered, including WCO and A/P capacity building structure,regional capacity building strategy, WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation and some examples of customs business partnership on capacity building. The presentation attracted great interest of the participants.
Mr. Kosaka’s contribution to the conference was very well received by the participants. The IFCBA expressed their special appreciation to the participation of the WCO and its intension to continue inviting WCO and ROCB A/P for the next conference.
