It is my great pleasure and honor to greet everyone as a new member of the ROCB/AP. My name is Saori Nojima, CCF/Japan Operation Manager and Program Manager for South Asia.
In the WCO regional approach for capacity building, ROCB/AP has been playing a pivotal role to promote sharing ideas and practices among WCO Members of the A/P region. I am excited to work together with these WCO Members by fully utilizing my knowledge and experience as well as by exploring new possibilities at the ROCB/AP.
In my experience as a Japan Customs officer, I have been involved in a variety of capacity building activities and international fora especially on Customs Reform and Modernization as well as Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) Border Enforcement.
As for Customs Reform and Modernization field, I was a Trainer at the WCO Regional Training Center in Japan to deliver lectures in workshops and to serve as an Adjunct Professor on a subject regarding strategic action planning in two WCO scholarship master’s degree programs at Aoyama Gakuin University and National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo Japan.
Regarding IPR Border Enforcement, I have been involved in many capacity building activities of WCO, trade negotiations and international meetings. Those my engagements were supported with experiences I accumulated in Customs and Patent Attorney’s qualification I obtained.
I would like to join our hands with colleagues of respective WCO Members to achieve our common objectives as Customs by breaking through the walls that we tend to believe they exist without noticing we have potential to overcome.
I am looking forward to working with you!!
