ROCB A/P renews close collaboration with the ADB in the SASEC program

Dr. Rosalind Y. McKenzie, Senior Regional Cooperation Specialist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), visited the ROCB A/P on 7 June 2018 to discuss continuous cooperation and collaboration between the ADB and the ROCB A/P under the South Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation (SASEC) program. Mr. Kazunari Igarashi, Head of the ROCB A/P, and Ms. Saori Nojima, Program Manager for South Asia, warmly welcomed Dr. McKenzie, with whom the ROCB A/P has been closely working for many years.
The ROCB A/P maintains close collaborating with the ADB as good partners in various capacity building opportunities in the SASEC sub-region, such as the WCO-ADB Multi-year Project on Customs Valuation Control for the SASEC countries (please refer to http://www.rocb-ap.org/article-detail/255/). Seizing the opportunity of Dr. McKenzie’s visit, they vigorously discussed way forward and approaches for sustainable assistance towards Customs modernization in tandem with strategically structured roadmaps. They also shared their respective endeavors and its progresses as well as future plans regarding capacity building activities, especially in the implementation assistance for the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement in the SASEC countries, and reconfirmed renewing close corroboration and make the best use of limited resources for optimizing relevant joint activities’ outcomes.
