WCO Asia/Pacific Regional Workshop on Compliance and Enforcement Package (CEP)
11-15 June 2018, Nagoya, Japan
The WCO, in cooperation with the Japan Customs and the ROCB A/P, organized a Regional Workshop on Compliance and Enforcement Package (CEP) on 11-15 June 2018 at the Nagoya Customs, Japan. This was the first WCO workshop held at the Nagoya Customs. The Workshop was sponsored by the CCF/Japan and was attended by 24 Customs officials from 23 Customs administrations in the A/P region. Ms. Eva Suen of the ROCB A/P and experts from the WCO Secretariat and the RILO A/P facilitated the Workshop as resource persons.
The Workshop was intended to provide a platform for participants to share practices, experiences, methods and approaches to operational planning to address high-risk areas for Customs enforcement at the global, regional and national levels. The experts explained on the CEP Toolkit, the WCO Networks and IT Tools, the Post-Clearance Audits (PCA), Enforcement Cycle and Intelligence Cycle, etc. Participants shared their national practices and challenges via presentations, group discussions, and exercises with a view to enriching their knowledge on the CEP.
The Workshop was well received by participants. They praised that the content of the workshop was comprehensive and practical to their operations, and appreciated on the logistical arrangements provided by the Nagoya Customs and the ROCB A/P.
