At the invitation of Mr. Lin Hongliang, Secretary General of the Asian-Pacific Postal Union (APPU), Mr. Norikazu Kuramoto, Head of ROCB A/P, and Dr. Tong Hua, Program Manager of ROCB A/P, joined the “the Celebration of 50th Anniversary of the Asian-Pacific Postal College (APPC)” at APPU headquarters located in Thailand Post on 10 September 2020. The event was also blended arrangement by virtual sessions with participants via online.
Mr. Kuramoto congratulated the APPC on achieving this longstanding professional milestone for international training for postal officials from Asia Pacific region. He underlined that the Post and the Customs Administration operate in a collaborative and efficient manner. Therefore, he further exchanged view with Mr. Lin, the SG of the APPU on future collaboration. At the event, ROCB A/P met and greeted executives of Ministry of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand and the Thailand Post as well. The celebration event ended in a pleasant atmosphere, which all the participants in Bangkok were invited to join a 'happy birthday dance' session on the stage.
The Asian-Pacific Postal College (APPC) was established on 10 September 1970 in Bangkok following the recommendation of the first Congress of the Asian-Pacific Postal Union held in Manila in 1965. Up to date, it has trained more than 7500 postal managers from various postal administrations in the Asia-Pacific region, Middle East and the African continent. ROCB A/P was invited to give lectures regarding cross-border E-commerce, trade facilitation and function of the WCO at APPC several times in the past. Please refer to the links below for details: (1.
