Mr. Michael CYMBALISTA, Australian Border Force (ABF) Attaché, Counsellor of Australian Embassy in Bangkok Thailand visited ROCB A/P as its new support member.

Mr. Norikazu KURAMOTO, the Head of ROCB A/P, expressed his highest welcome as new ROCB supporting member based on Bangkok Thailand and appreciated ABF for its continuous support for regional capacity building activities for long time though this position. In response, Mr. Cymbalista reaffirmed the ABF’s commitment to provide its expertise and resources to ROCB A/P as a supporting partner for enhancing collaboration among AP Members. With a view to further enhancing cooperation between ABF and ROCB A/P, he also added that this visit offered a great opportunity to exchange information on Customs capacity building activities as well as explore synergies of future cooperation.

During the meeting, Mr. Kuramoto briefed the latest initiatives of the WCO followed by the introduction on the ROCB A/P and the upcoming events in the next fiscal year. A wide range of subjects were discussed including ABF’s possibility of founding/supporting WCO workshops in the next fiscal year, the role of regional entities and WCO hot topics of common interests.

Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening the working relationship between ROCB A/P and ABF.
