The ROCB A/P have a fruitful and constructive meeting with the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office for the Asia/Pacific region (RILO A/P) for further close cooperation in supporting Asia Pacific Members in this fiscal year as the same regional body of WCO in Asia Pacific region on 16 August 2022.

During the meeting, Mr. Norikazu KURAMOTO, the Head of the ROCB A/P expressed his highest welcome RILO delegations and appreciated the RILO A/P especially for its consistent support for ROCB’s enforcement-related capacity building activities in AP region at the last fiscal year. In response, Mr. Cheon Jeong PARK, the Head of the RILO A/P, reaffirmed the RILO A/P’s commitment to work closely with the ROCB A/P to support regional Members.

Taking this opportunity, Mr. KURAMOTO introduced the ROCB A/P’s annual work plan for FY 2022/23 and key meetings namely RTC heads meeting and RCL heads meeting in this fiscal year and asked the close cooperation at these events in providing the RILO A/P’s expertise and resources to support ROCB A/P capacity building activities. With a view to further enhancing cooperation, delegations of the RILO A/P briefed its capacity building programs and international cooperation activities in FY 2022/23 and ask the ROCB A/P to attend RILO National Contact Point meeting in 27-29 September at Korea and other regional seminar which will be organized by RILO A/P in this fiscal year. In addition, they emphasized that this visit offered a great opportunity to discuss joint capacity building efforts as well as explore synergies of future cooperation.

Both sides in the discussions found the exchange to be a good and motivating basis for the continuing cooperation between the ROCB A/P and the RILO A/P.
