At the invitation of the Indonesian Customs Training Center, Mr. Norikazu Kuramoto, Head of ROCB A/P, and Ms Chloe AU, Program Manager of ROCB A/P, joined the “Webinar on Capacity Building at the Turning Point: Challenge the Tradition or Embrace Transformation” on 12 August 2020 as resource persons.  More than 160 Indonesian customs officials joined the Webinar, including representatives from his neighboring countries.

In the Webinar, Mr. Norikazu delivered a presentation to introduce the work of the WCO as well as the ROCB A/P and provided updates of the regional capacity building activities.  At present, the ROCB A/P, like all Member administrations in A/P region, is facing different and various challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic that are unprecedented and unexpected than ever.  Therefore, taking this opportunity, Mr. Norikazu shared with the participants how the ROCB A/P responses to the changes and the new way forward in carrying out the regional capacity building activities.  The ROCB A/P will give full support to the virtual meetings organized by Members or working partners, enrich our publications so as to maintain continued communication and sharing among Members, and prepare ourselves to resume arranging face-to-face workshops in the future.
