The ROCB A/P and the Australian Border Force strengthen cooperation to support capacity building in the Asia Pacific region

On 6 October 2021, Mr. Joel Carruthers, Acting Australian Border Force (ABF) Counsellor Mekong of the Australian Embassy in Thailand, accompanied by Mr. Banpot Denmetharat, Senior Project Officer - Mekong region of the Australian Embassy in Thailand, paid a courtesy visit to the ROCB A/P. Mr. Kuramoto, Head of ROCB and his colleagues warmly welcomed them.

 

Mr. Kuramoto introduced the outline of ROCB A/P, capacity building activities in the AP region and current key topics of the WCO. Mr. Carruthers provided the ROCB A/P with information on capacity building activities delivered by ABF for Customs Administrations in the Mekong region. Furthermore, they exchanged views on how the ROCB A/P and the ABF could collaborate in capacity building in the AP region. Mr. Kuramoto and Mr. Carruthers have agreed on continuously strengthening cooperation between the ROCB A/P and ABF to support the AP Members’ efforts on their capacity development.
