30 – 31 August 2023, Bangkok, Thailand

Mr. Norikazu Kuramoto, Head of the ROCB A/P and his colleagues actively participated in the Regional Private Sector Group for Asia Pacific (RPSG AP) which was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 30 to 31 August 2023. Delegates from various trade and logistics-related companies and private trade association in Asia Pacific region attended this meeting as well as WCO Asia Pacific Vice Chair, the Australia Customs, the New Zealand Customs and the Thai Customs also attended.

During the meeting, Mr. Kuramoto introduced ROCB A/P’s achievements in capacity-building activities during the last fiscal year in the Asia-Pacific region. He also provided a brief overview of its annual work plan for this fiscal year and explained how to access the latest information including ROCB AP's publications as well as promoted WCO learning tools such as CLiKC! and the WCO Academy.

This meeting reviewed the regional activities of Asia Pacific Customs administrations and WCO throughout the year by private sector. The discussions covered topics such as digitalization in the private sector, regional experiences of customs brokers and forwarders, as well as the experiences of separate countries with customs-related systems. Furthermore, participants discussed on the possibility of collaborating with RPSG to enhance Capacity Building in the Asia-Pacific region.
