Ms. Kanya Satyani Sasradipoera, Principal Regional Cooperation Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), along with her ADB colleague, paid courtesy visit to Mr. Norikazu Kuramoto, the Head of the ROCB A/P on 15th September 2023.

During this visit, Ms. Sasradipoera received a warm welcome from Mr. Norikazu Kuramoto, Head of ROCB A/P. The visit served to reaffirm the unwavering commitment of ROCB A/P and ADB to regional cooperation and development initiatives.

The discussions during the visit encompassed a range of important subjects, including coordinated border management, e-commerce, and electronic data exchange for pre-arrival goods in developing nations across South Asia. Mr. Kuramoto also elaborated on ROCB A/P's annual needs assessment survey, designed to evaluate the technical assistance requirements of regional Member administrations, thus providing invaluable insights for the strategic planning of capacity-building activities. Furthermore, both parties engaged in discussions on topics such as the WCO SAFE Framework and the World Trade Organization's Trade Facilitation Agreement, as well as the challenges faced by developing countries within the region.

Mr. Kuramoto expressed his dedication to exploring additional collaboration opportunities in the realm of capacity-building activities and assured Ms. Sasradipoera of ROCB A/P's commitment to fully support ADB's initiatives. The visit resulted in fruitful discussions between ROCB A/P and ADB, highlighting the profound importance of regional cooperation.
