ROCB A/P attended 19th the Global Meeting of the Regional Entities established by the WCO Members and the Council Vice-Chairs’ Offices

The 19th Global Meeting of the WCO Regional Entities was held from 19 to 20 February 2024 at the WCO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, in a hybrid format. Mr. Norikazu Kuramoto, Head of ROCB A/P, Mr. Jun Tajima, Program Manager, Mr. Jaemin Cho, Program Manager, Ms. Zhengqing Ye, Program Manager, and Mr. Louis Chan, Program Manager, represented the office to attend the meeting in person.


Mr. Kuramoto played a chair role of the Meeting. In addition to that, he made a presentation on the cooperation activities with regional entities by ROCB A/P. Additionally, Mr. Jaemin Cho was invited to present A/P region’s findings on a survey on customs training management for developing national training strategies. Mr. Jun Tajima also delivered a presentation on ROCB AP’s training management project in Asia Pacific region covering recent activities and future plans.


At this meeting, delegates from the Vice Chair’s Office, Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB), Regional Intelligence Liaison Office (RILO), Regional Training Centre (RTC), Regional Customs Laboratory (RCL), and Regional Dog Training Centre (RDTC) in the six WCO regions attended.


The purpose of organizing the Global Meeting is to facilitate the guidance and coordination of Regional Entities and Council Vice-Chairs’ Offices in capacity building efforts. This seeks to enhance collaboration among these entities, encourage the adoption of consistent standards for a unified approach and performance, and provide recommendations to the WCO Capacity Building Committee.
