ROCB A/P joins the 44th WCO Enforcement Committee Session


18-22 March, 2024, Brussels, Belgium

 

The 44th WCO Enforcement Committee Session (EC) was organized by the WCO at the WCO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium from 18 to 22 March 2024. This year's session aims to spotlight new trends, define work priorities, and enhance both global and regional cooperation in the field. Ms. Zhengqing YE, the representatives of the ROCB A/P joined the meeting.

 

Referring to the WCO theme for 2024, this year’s session centered on “Enhance Customs Enforcement through Partnerships‘’. The Conference underscored the active engagement of key enforcement and compliance stakeholders was vital to the success of Customs Enforcement. During the 5-day Conference, except Customs traditional focus as revenue collection, other critical topics like security, terrorism, environmental protection, border integrity, money laundering, health and safety, and intellectual property rights were also discussed. Moreover, the Members were invited to share their national practices, which established good examples showcasing how to elevating customs operations through strategic collaboration.

 

This Conference served as a valuable platform for the ROCB A/P to update the latest WCO initiatives as well as the development of joint operations. It also provided us with a good opportunity to exchange ideas with our counterparts and Members, which definitely offered us more insights into the future trends of the regional Capacity Building needs. The ROCB A/P will continue dedicating itself to supporting the WCO Enforcement Capacity Building activities in AP region.
